"Cause you never know 'til you really go and be". Peter Barnes Martin is a singer-songwriter and jazz musician that fuses the sounds of folk, singer-songwriter, neo-soul, and jazz into his sound. His lyrics tell honestly of his life experiences as a reflective yet optimistic young adult. Peter grew up in Rochester, New York before majoring in Jazz Studies at Michigan State University. After graduation, Peter ventured to New York City with the promise of making it as an up-and-coming jazz guitarist. The COVID-19 pandemic froze his dreams and he relocated back to Rochester, New York. Following his fiancé to Monterey, California, Peter immediately found an identity among the musical community as not only an instrumentalist, but a jazz vocalist. During this time, Peter used a consistent rotation of performances as a workshop for the songs that would become his debut album "Anywhere is Home" which will be released in March 2023.
