https://phil.mcmilli.com Phil McMillion is an Ann Arbor MI. based singer/songwriter whose style is very eclectic. He writes about many subjects and often throws a little humor in the mix. He also talks about himself in the third person. Phil grew up in Detroit, MI. He attended Cass Technical High School (Jan. '76 valedictorian), majoring in music (playing french horn and trumpet). He played some horn while attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Mostly classically trained, he became influenced by the blues in his early twenties and became self-taught on guitar. After a long pause from making music, Phil began writing songs (with lyrics!) in 2009. He got hooked on a couple of international songwriting challenges in 2012 - FAWM (February Album Writing Month - write 14 songs in 28 days) and 50/90 (Write 50 songs in 90 days during the summer), and has participated in both every year since. These have helped him enormously with both his songwriting and musical performance.
