Rhoda ‘Sugar Girl’ Connor
Born in Antigua but raised in Trinidad, this aspiring, energetic and passionate singer is reaching for the stars. Rhoda came from a musical family background where she started at the tender age of three, singing at her local church in Trinidad. She then migrated to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands where her talent was further exposed. Rhoda traveled to Aruba to perform for the Caribbean Fest Magazine, there after to New York City for the Pre-Gala Grammy Award event. After moving to Miami in 1999, Rhoda has been actively involved in the Miami Carnival events. She is a regular in the calypso and Soca Monarch competition as one of the background vocalist for the competing Calypsonians. She also toured with artists such as Kymani Marley the son of the Legendary Bob Marley. Rhoda is a dynamic and versatile singer, who sings a wide genre of music which is expressed profoundly when she performs. She now performs regularly around the South Florida area.
