MoonFace the Mage is the bardic alias of UK based solo-artist Rhod Welsh. It’s been 20 years since the inception of the MoonFace moniker; kicking off with solo shows in local bars, then releasing the first DIY EP: ‘Folked up Beyond all Recognition’ in 2005 to a welcoming audience. MoonFace then continued to ride the music-scene-carousel with a UK tour and festival appearances; sharing the stage with the likes of Devendra Banhart, Seth Lakeman and Hayseed Dixie. Through 2008-2010, the solo artist transformed into a 4-piece band under the guise of ‘MoonFace and the Familiar Shapes.’ Proverbially melting the faces of a growing fan-base in the South Wales music scene. And now, after 10 years in the wilderness, MoonFace the Mage emerges like a mythical bard returning from a holy quest. With a compendium of tales of godless things and mountain kings which meander across an acoustic soundscape in the shape of a Welsh bloke and an old guitar.

Juggernaut
Juggernaut: The cinematic, southern-gothic first single from the debut album of Alt-roots artist; Moonface the Mage. This jaunty-indie tune shows off the raw energy of a nihilistic-slide-guitar troubadour in a hopeful foot-tapping dittie that sits within a growing kooky-Welsh-indie rock scene.more

Hazelmere
Some nostalgia soup with a side of yearning for a past that probably wasn’t as real as a memory makes it feel.more
