Ricky’s sound borrows from both sides of the Atlantic: a raw British voice, lyrics that brim with restless hope and songs that suggest dreams of escape – all steered by uplifting melodies and his insistent, rhythmic guitar style. After years spent recording local musicians in his London studio, Ricky has honed a creative approach that subtly blends technology with his acoustic roots. He uses over 100 altered tunings to create his guitar hooks, often augmented by effects and drum samples, all designed to enhance the cinematic, driving quality of his material. The result is music that touches the edges of folk, country and rock, but finds a home between these spheres – and the blues is a regular visitor. Ricky's new single, 'Glued Eyes', is a stripped down, live performance of just him and his guitar, recorded and filmed in a dusty warehouse.
