Rita Valens is a Mexican American singer-songwriter and electronic artist creating lyric-driven EDM that puts storytelling at the center of dance music. Blending deeply personal songwriting with a wide range of electronic styles, including deep house, progressive house, Afro house, Afro-Latin rhythms, disco, melodic house, and trance, Valens creates tracks that feel more like songs than traditional instrumental-driven EDM. Rather than being defined by one electronic genre, Valens uses different forms of EDM as a canvas for songwriting, creating music you can dance to, but also listen to for the words. For Rita Valens, the dance floor isn’t just somewhere to lose yourself. It’s somewhere to find yourself again.
