Riwo Theodora Egor is a Nigerian born singer and songwriter. She is the lead vocalist of the band Melafrique. She has been performing in Edmonton since 2015 (and a few times in Calgary), and has done so alongside various artists; with her band Melafrique and as a solo artist. She is very passionate about sharing messages and personal stories through music, and enjoys doing so through the Neo-soul, R&B and Afro-Jazz styles of music. She believes in the power of music to heal wounds, and cause people to connect on so many levels. In 2017, Riwo emerged winner of Rejoice Alberta, a Christian singing competition, which led to the release of her debut single You Remain The Same. Since then, she has worked both as a writer and vocalist: on Titilope Sonuga's Swim, Melafrique's Not Alone, Hashtag by Arlo Maverick, Feel This (alongside various Edmontonian talents), to mention a few. One of Riwo's biggest goals in life is for her music to bring unity in the diversity of our crazy world.
