Ronî was born in the historic city of Mardin, located in the Southeast of Turkey. The long-necked lute, which hung on the wall of Nur, his neighbor, changed his life. While strumming, he grew up with the Saz and the folk music that had been played among friends for centuries. Musical emotions and instincts filled his heart along the musical scores and Ronî knew that he wanted to be a singer, musician, all his life. Ronî continued to play and sing music during the night, passionately following in the footsteps of his role model Murathan Mungan, who was with him on his path and modeled him as a human being. The love for music made him stronger and more determined. He decided to develop his musical talent abroad. In 2016 he met Karen Willems, a well-known drummer and musician. She pulls him onto the stage at the SMAK in Ghent. Ronî’s first CD will be released in 2023 and will be an ode to his family, his friends, his culture, his country.
