Something Sleeps are a London-based dream folk band built around atmospheric harmonies, soulful strings, and reimagined traditional song. Led by Fiona Fey (Mediaeval Baebes) and Reyhan Yusuf (Daemonia Nymphe), with violinist Monica Viñoly and cellist Josh Considine, the band draws on centuries-old folk tradition while asking what's been preserved — and what's been lost.
Their sound has been described as "a dreamy delicacy" (Zap! Bang! Magazine), with Soho Radio calling them "a mesmerising live act, encapsulating traditional storytelling with glorious harmonies and innovative arrangements." The band have supported Martin Carthy at Broadstairs Folk Week and performed at Folk East.
Their new single, "The Rocks of Bawn," a stripped-back reimagining of a 300-year-old Irish ballad, arrives 11th September ahead of their forthcoming album — a record shaped by each member's own search into what survives of their heritage, and what doesn't.
