Based in Cardiff, UK, Soren Araújo is a passionate capeverdean/portuguese
singer/songwriter/guitarist, whose passion began at a young age, having
grown up in a musical family. Born in 1981 to capeverdean parents, in
Moscow, Russia, Soren grew up surrounded by art, and never missed his
mother’s rehearsals with her band Simentera.
Having picked up the guitar at the age of 13, Soren’s musical years as a
teenager and young adult were mostly spent writing and performing with
Rock and Metal bands, in Cape Verde, Namibia and Germany.
Soren’s music is ethereal yet dense, drawing from a diverse palette of
cultural influences, ranging from, Capeverdean, Iberian, Celtic, Oriental,
Rock, and Metal.
In March 2020, Soren recorded his first solo album, entitled “Six Degrees of Separation” in Lisbon,
Portugal. The album is a genre-fluid, 10 track journey in themes of togetherness, heavily inspired by his own personal experiences, many of which he picked up while on tour.
