In 2001, at the 4 annual Sergey Kuryokhin Festival (SKIFF). The Idea to make such a project with the name came up to the drummer’s head Denis Kuptsov, as he says later — it was our Russian answer to an American New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble. The music of SPB SJR is an ingenious blend of Jamaican ska & rocksteady and reggae, American jazz and R&B.
