Hi, I'm Steve Hermit, a self-taught drummer/percussionist from Antwerp, Belgium. Not academically accomplished in any sort of way but been have been passionate about drumming and percussion in general since a very young age. I did attend Jazz-Studio (private music school in Antwerp) for a while before exploring the world a bit. And on my travels occasionally picked up and explored some of the fascinating percussion instruments I came across. Such as Tabla from india, Darbuka from Morocco, etc. Although I never had the the intention to master any of these instruments like a true Master, I was mainly fascinated and enchanted by how they sounded. And learned just enough to use them in my own humble productions. After my years of swerving 'round various part of the globe, I threw my anker out (hopefully not for ever tho') for the moment in a small town just outside Antwerp.
