Kuala Lumpur

Formed in November 2023, The Goblokes are a Rockabilly trio from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, composed of Khid on guitar and vocals, Boi on bass, and Chemenk on drums. The Goblokes was formed out of the shared passion for Rockabilly music and the desire to see that genre of music - and the 1950-esque culture attached to it (inclusive of pompadours and leather jackets) - being adopted here as it has been in other countries across Asia including neighbouring Thailand and Indonesia. Realising that being Malaysian makes them unique in the Rockabilly scene, the band has always highlighted its Malaysian roots. The Goblokes goes as far as including the words “Rockabilly Malaysia” in its official logo. This is despite a key member of the band, Chemenk, hailing from Padang, Indonesia, as well as the fact that the band’s name is a play on a particularly well-known Indonesian word and the words “Go” and “Blokes” - stressing the progressive nature of Rockabilly music.
