Following a tradition of guitarists reimagining themselves in the switch from electric guitar bands to solo acoustic work, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Thom Donovan recorded his 5th studio album, Timekeeper, during the COVID-19 lockdown. He was inspired to write the record after performing at John Prine’s music festival in the Dominican Republic with Ruby Amanfu in November 2019.
Timekeeper isn’t purist folk or nostalgia but speaks to the complexities of looking back while putting a light on the hopefulness of moving on. Timekeeper is available at all major streaming services.
