South Africa

We’re Top Deq, a boundary-pushing DJ/producer duo from South Africa, blending design, rhythm, and cultural nostalgia into future-facing sound. Groove Arkitekt — born in Pretoria with Malawian roots. Inspired by video games, funk, and visual design, he crafts immersive, retro-futurist soundscapes. BNJM — from the Vaal Triangle, shaped by high school beat culture and a background in visual design. He brings a designer’s ear and a strategist’s sense of impact to every groove. Met in varsity, became friends before collaborators, and made Top Deq official in late 2024. 🎶 THE MUSIC WE MAKE Our sound blends Funk, Amapiano, Deep House, and nostalgic global grooves. It’s built for movers, dreamers, and the culturally tuned-in. Whether we’re reimagining classics, building cinematic transitions, or fusing basslines with melodic storytelling — our music is: ✈️ A journey 📡A frequency 🪩 A dance between past and future COME FLY WITH US https://x.com/TopDeq_ZA
