Born in the infamous “Edgemere Houses” of Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, “Tye The God” is an MC, rapper and a producer, among other things. He’s also what you’d call a late bloomer. None the less, a ‘God’ to be reckoned with. Despite setbacks, much disappointment and what seemed a bleak pursuit to be discovered in music industry, Tye has never abandoned his love for the craft. He was introduced to rapping at the age of 14 after leaving ‘Far Rock’ and landing in South Side, Jamaica, Queens, New York in 1991, at the beginning of what many would call “the best era for Hip Hop”. With influences ranging from Big Daddy Kane, Xclan, Rakim, KRS, brand Nubian to artist like Nas, Organized Konfuzion, Canibus, Big pun, just to name several. Trying to find his niche, Tye has gone through many changes in becoming the kind of artist he see’s himself to be. Thus, Tye the God” was created.
