Bill Bielby co-founded his band The Newport. when he was in eighth grade. They won the Roosevelt Junior High School talent show performing “Apache” and an instrumental version of “Runaway” and performed in Chicago’s south suburbs throughout their high school years. Bill manages and performs with his band The Newoprts. The Newports deliver their eclectic mix of soul, rock and blues at music festivals, concert venues, night clubs, and at charity events throughout the Chicago area, northwest Indiana, and southwest Michigan. The band’s first album, “The Newports: Blues, Rock, Soul,” was released on Cherry Ridge Records in July 2019. Their second album, “Let’s Dance Again,” drops on June 24, 2022.
