Jay Sherman-Godfrey has been a presence on the NYC roots-rock scene since the mid-80s, co-founding seminal alt country rockers World Famous Blue Jays along with their associated label, Diesel Only Records with Jeremy Tepper. Know as a guitarist first, he's played in studio and on stage with several NYC stalwarts, including Amy Rigby, They Might Be Giants, Eric Ambel, and Micheal Shelley. As a producer, he helmed Laura Cantrell's first two critically acclaimed albums, also contributing a song for each. He released his solo LP Public Address in 2011, and now leads the New York-based power pub rock trio Wire Troop, who have released album and EP and play regularly up and down the East Coast. He lives in Kingston, NY where he operates Able Mobile Recording Lab, a workshop-style mobile studio and mixing room.
