Shannon Rickey is a Kentucky storyteller, U.S. Navy veteran, birth mother, cancer survivor, genealogist, and unapologetically witchy Appalachian woman whose songs are rooted in truth, resilience, and hope.
Raised on the stories of Soldiers by her father, an Army Public Affairs Officer with a voice that could stop you in your tracks, she inherited both his love of music and his belief that stories matter. After serving as an Aircraft Crash and Salvage firefighter in the Navy, she followed her own path into Army Casualty & Mortuary Affairs, helping care for military families through their darkest days.
Four years sober and still learning, Shannon writes songs about survival, service, open adoption, healing, ancestry, and finding your way home. Blending mountain gospel, outlaw country, Americana, and Appalachian blues, she isn’t chasing Nashville. She’s chasing connection.
If one song helps one person feel a little less alone…
That’s enough.
