These lyrics started as a school project to compose a poem where every line begins with the letter of the alphabet. The delivery, therefore, showcases its poetic origins, although iambic pentameter is easier said than done (and it's not even all that easy to say!), so props to those Shakespearean actresses and actors out there!

🎼Again I trace your name in ash; my fingers ache, they spark and stall
Beneath my breath I curse the crash that came before I had the fall
Clouds convulse like veins of glass, each thunder strike’s your parting call
Death would’ve been the kinder clash but silence screamed the loudest wall
-
You, you, you, you, I’ll never get over you
You, you, you, you, no one could love me like you do
You, you, you, you, my heart beats only for you; I’ll never get over you
-
Even now I drink the dare, your ghost is ink in every line
Fevered nights that strip me bare then sew me back in fractured time
Guilt is dressed in your despair; I taste your name in sour wine
Hope it's hanging by a hair; this heartbreak almost feels divine🎼
