About a year ago I started experiencing a temporary neurological problem that still has not been definitively diagnosed. It lasted about a month, from late September to late October of 2022. During that time, there was a period of about 5-7 days where I completely lost the ability to sleep and perceive time normally. My various symptoms had come on gradually but had now stagnated at their highest. Those 5-7 days also just felt like one long day. This song reflects that period of time and my desire to know what the root problem was, imagining what I would say to a neurologist, but also accepting that I must face that I will probably never know for sure or get an accurate diagnosis because it happened so long ago.
