First of all I should tell you that Clombines is a made up word. there was a time in my life where me and my closest friend suffered with substance abuse issues. We both handled the shame of our situations in different ways. I would try to avoid thinking about what I was doing and how harmful it was for me whereas my friend would learn the supporting science for why what he was doing wasn't so bad or even the benefits of it. Now me being the sort of person that didn't want to think about this sort of thing it used to annoy me whenever he would put on a show of using big words and telling everyone why it was fine but in reality when he is talking to a room full of people with no interest or knowledge in it as someone who has every reason to lie to justify themselves it just came out as meaningless buzzwords that he seemed to use only to inflate his ego. So I would make jokes about how the crystalline structures would oscillate your Clombines and that could cure the common cold. It was all very tongue in cheek but Clombines came to mean something to me and my friend it was a shorthand which summarised that dark time to us. So one day sat at home having deep thoughts about my past and everything I have been through I crafted this track with love and with respect of its mythology. I will say to anyone who has taken the time to read this, thank you. the song takes a moment to kick in but I promise you in that final third when it explodes into life you will know that the anticipation of the build was worth it.
