Farhad Mehrad (Persian: فرهاد مهراد) widely known in Iran as Farhad (January 20 1944, Tehran, Iran - August 31 2002, Paris, France), was a Persian legendary singer/musician. He rose to prominence among Iranian classical/folk musicians before the Islamic Revolution, but after the revolution he was banned from singing for several years.
