This is the single from an upcoming album at the end of the month. UP NOW features another artist, Keenan Victor, who has worked with me many times in the past. I've known Keenan for 3+ years, so we always have good vibes when we work together. I believe this song is the tone for my new album and the best representation of where I am with my music. The song is very energetic, lyrically-driven, with a unique beat in the background. The introduction samples lyrics from an older song of mine. Repeating the words : "Lifelike, I'm feeling lifelike. Life-like. I'm feeling life, like". This is recognizable to fans who have been listening to me for a while. I love to leave in these "Easter eggs" for long-time listeners. I use this as an intro to the entire album as a nod to the previous project. This is my first time working with the producer, Ash Matthews, he's a friend of a friend. Ash said he was a bit of a nerd and found the inspiration for the beat in a Commodore 64 commercial from the 80s. I don't understand how he did it.. but it inspired me and Keenan to make this. This song is engineered entirely by me, Omniscient Art. Keenan recorded his own vocals then sent them to me. Ash sent me the production. I made the final decisions in the mixing and "mastering" stages. more
