The Boy Who Cried ICBM
Forget the boy who cried wolf - "THE BOY WHO CRIED ICBM" is the true story of how confusing emergency alert interfaces caused trouble in paradise! -- 😱 -- "The Boy Who Cried ICBM" started out as another generic drum and bass track. Like most of my tracks, it started when I randomly typed some notes, had them loop throughout the track, then I added a bassline, percussion etc. What resulted was this panicked-sounding track which I decided to make about the Hawaiian false missile alert, which happened on January 13, 2018, at 8:07 AM Hawaii time. This track was released exactly three years to the minute of that event happening! -- The message in this track is the exact same message that was sent to all phones in Hawaii on January 13, 2018 (you can look up screenshots of it), when a Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA) employee clicked the actual alert button instead of the drill button, sending a false alert to all devices in Hawaii that a ballistic missile was about to strike! (How's that for a morning alarm clock?) Emergency Alert System (EAS) scenarios are one of my special interests, so naturally this track came to be. -- 😱 -- It is an important reminder about the dangers of when human error met confusing emergency alert interfaces. Year's Start
YEAR'S START: HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let's kick-start 2021 with some overwhelmingly positive happy hardcore music! -- 🏙 -- Year's Start is the prequel to Year's End, and it's my first release in 2021. It was made to capture the exciting and hopeful atmosphere that January comes with - right after the clock strikes midnight, a new year begins, and that tends to be a very celebratory moment (especially after the wild year that was 2020). Year's Start was made to capture that special moment and the hope for a better year! -- OTHER FUN FACTS: 1. Starting with this track, there will be a hidden quokka hiding in my cover arts! Can you find the quokka in this one? 2. The city pictured here is Perth, Western Australia. 3. It went through several name changes - it started off as "Happiness Revolution" and then "January", since this track started production on a January, and January tends to be a very positive month for me. 4. I considered this my "happiest track" until I created Ecstatica in 2019. 5. It was once 11 minutes long, but I'm starting to make smaller tracks and shortening the ones I've completed. Like Year's End, Year's Start was very repetitive and unnecessarily long, so I've cut out the repeating parts. 6. Started on January 22, 2018, it's my 41st release and 43rd track. -- 🏙 -- You can hear this on other platforms of your choosing, like Bandcamp, YouTube, and Spotify, at https://linktr.ee/MOULE! -- Follow me on https://twitter.com/MOULEofficial for the latest MOULE updates!more

NORILSK: I think you'll all like this track! I reckon it'd make for great hip hop beats. -- 🏭 -- Like almost all my other tracks, this track started with a beat, and then I added similar elements as I went. My style of production is to let the start of the track guide the rest of my my track development, so because I started with a cold, slow beat, what naturally followed were sombre and chilling bells and pads. -- So, I decided to name the track after an equally chilling city: Norilsk, a remote city in Siberian Russia, famous for its nickel exports and -55°C temperatures. It has a population of 220,000, 2 months of constant nighttime in the winter, and it's north of the Arctic circle, in the permafrost zone. I thought such a cool city (pardon the pun) deserves a cool track! -- 🏭 -- So...does this track slap?
