Cyber Threat Resistance League
CYBER THREAT RESISTANCE LEAGUE - Kickass funky electro music soundtracking one group's quest to save their friends from the onslaught of rogue AIs crawling out of the dark web and wreaking havoc across the Internet! -- 🔊 Stream this on other platforms like YouTube and Spotify: hyperfollow.com/moule/cyber-threat-resistance-league -- 👕 CTRL Merch: www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/151907809 -- 🎥 CTRL Cover Art Timelapse: www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8B2ZwocgeI -- Cyber Threat Resistance League soundtracks the cyber-warrior group of the same name: Melody and Mei have had enough of being tormented by rogue artificial intelligence, especially Melody, as she works tirelessly to scour the web for signs of her friends Delgado and Rocky. The creepy video she was taunted by from The Crypt (soundtracked in moule.bandcamp.com/track/the-crypt ) was the last straw! (You can check out the video here: https://mastodon.moule.world/@Melody/111195543516041884 ) -- Helping the pair are Oskar, the reformed squirrel who recently returned from an oceanic odyssey (also soundtracked; see moule.bandcamp.com/track/squirrel-overboard ), who has lots of knowledge of servers and routing rules, and donated some servers not destroyed by the Fammus Islands tsunami for CTRL's digital fight against the AIs. Also with them are Robin, the inventor of the Visionaria augmented reality glasses (moule.bandcamp.com/track/visionaria ) who himself is fighting against the creepy Bugs and distortions of reality that appear in his augmented reality glasses. -- Together, the CTRL are using a mixture of cyber attack and defence knowledge to fight back against the rogue AIs, as well as rescue their friends Delgado and Rocky from their respective fates at Big Crypto and The Crypt! -- Let me know what you think on the Fediverse at MASTODON.MOULE.WORLD/@MOULE (or copy and paste @[email protected] into your server's search bar), or get in contact via "Contact MOULE" to the right of this page! -- Visit MOULE.WORLD for all MOULE links!more

THE CRYPT: Soundtracking a theoretical encrypted layer of the dark web home to the Bugs: the rogue AIs creeping up towards the surface web and infecting it with distortions, deepfakes, deception and who knows what else... -- 🔊 Stream this on other platforms like YouTube and Spotify: hyperfollow.com/moule/the-crypt -- 👕 The Crypt Merch: www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/150355156 -- 🎥 The Crypt Promo Video: youtu.be/ZT_Vz18LsVg -- The Crypt is a theoretical encrypted layer of the dark web that's inaccessible with current ICT infrastructure. It is home to the Bugs: the rogue AIs creeping up towards the surface web and infecting it with distortions, deepfakes, deceptions, and who knows what else. -- The tale of The Crypt began with a creepy video sent to Melody via a strange email address featuring a spider symbol that she soon revealed on the MOULE WORLD Fediverse Server: mastodon.moule.world/@Melody/111195543516041884 -- Mei also recieved a picture of the same spider symbol emailed to her from the same address: mastodon.moule.world/@Mei/111195586099640103 -- ...followed shortly by Mei also receiving pictures of strange captcha-like distorted messages that she shared as well: mastodon.moule.world/@Mei/111211065859325286 -- Not to be confused with the .crypto blockchain top-level domain, Melody and Mei couldn't find any information about the .crypt TLD, so they conclude that the server that the .crypt address points to, or even the "web" it's on, cannot be directly accessed via the surface web and requires specialised software (like how you need The Onion Router (TOR) to access .onion links). What's more mysterious is how the email address managed to reach them, yet they cannot reach it in return. -- Melody and Mei call the .crypt address space "The Crypt" and think AIs like The Singularity, Big Crypto, and I.D.I.O.T. – the ones tormenting them and their friends Delgado and Rocky – created this encrypted space they can retreat to. -- Given the spider symbol, the surface and dark webs being called "webs", Melody and Mei decided to call the rogue AIs "the Bugs". -- To counter them, Melody and Mei formed the Cyber Threat Resistance League, which forms the basis of my next track: mastodon.moule.world/@Melody/111304122291040725 -- Making this creepy-sounding track was relatively easy, and the same vocal transformer plug-in used in Squirrel Overboard to create those "underwater brass bugling" sounds was used once again on a distorted voice clip to raise its pitch and make it sound like screaming. The same plug-in was used on some other sounds as well. Aesthetically, the cover artwork and the video (youtu.be/ZT_Vz18LsVg) I made to promote this track were inspired by analog horror and creepy internet ARGs. -- I think this and Surreality are my creepiest tracks yet, but I think it warrants said creepiness given this very strange next chapter of MOULE WORLD that could hopefully answer Melody and Mei's questions about what happened to their friends. (It's also fitting for the spooky season as Halloween is right around the corner!) -- Let me know what you think on the Fediverse: MASTODON.MOULE.WORLD/@MOULE (I don't use "X" anymore!)more

Dead Internet
DEAD INTERNET - A vaporwave commentary on our modern Internet, where pop-ups, enshittification, surveillance, link rot, and AI spam are killing off the web as we know it! -- To stream this on other platforms like YouTube and Spotify, go to hyperfollow.com/moule/dead-internet -- Watch the timelapse of how I designed Dead Internet's cover art: youtu.be/4PqJ2_e7dDU -- Dead Internet Merch: www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/149849644 -- Dead Internet is my 96th release and 174th finished track! Created on September 2, 2023 and finished two days later during a surge of creativity, it's a satirical take on our annoying modern web, full of pop-ups, surveillance capitalism run rampant, and demands that you hand over your personal data and get served ads if you simply want to browse the web. -- This track was inspired by a lot of the sentiment I've come across lately about what the tech critic Cory Doctorow calls "enshittification". Much like how vaporwave mocks consumer capitalism, "Dead Internet" mocks our modern Internet. It starts off with sounds from Logic Pro's pitched samples for its hip-hop drum sets, which I thought sounded similar to the sounds of Windows 95 and the intro of the Nintendo Wii's "Internet Channel". -- As the track continues, it becomes increasingly creepier and distorted, becoming a surreal version of its earlier self, symbolising how the Internet as we once knew it is now overrun by bot traffic, surveillance, ads, fake news, and a greedy desire to monetise everything. It also plays off the theory that the Internet "died" years ago and almost all content online is AI-generated, which has become especially the case with the rapid rise of generative text, image, and video models. -- Let me know what you think on the Fediverse at MASTODON.MOULE.WORLD/@MOULE (or copy and paste @[email protected] into your own instance's search bar), or get in contact via "Contact MOULE" to the right of this page! -- Visit MOULE.WORLD for all MOULE links! more
