O-RANGE: Chill synthwave music soundtracking Count Chiroptera's prized orange orchard, or as he calls it the O-Range! Unlike other vampires, he doesn't suck blood, he sucks oranges! -- πŸ”Š Stream this on other platforms like YouTube and Spotify: distrokid.com/hyperfollow/moule/o-range πŸ‘• O-Range Merch: www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/162119201 πŸŽ₯ O-Range Cover Art Timelapse: yewtu.be/watch?v=Gh1PMQQKaOg -- This track began creation on July 29, 2018 under the title "Marmalade", since listening to this made me think of a beach front during sunset where people drink orange drinks. During production, I decided to merge another unfinished track I had called "5-Sense Lemonade" which can be heard 4 minutes into the track due to how similar-sounding they were – the fact they were named after citrus fruit drinks was a coincidence. -- I first shared a preview of Marmalade on my now-deleted Twitter account in early 2020, which you can also view here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTqHG3qDD2k&t=210s -- Recently, as MOULE WORLD characters developed, I wanted to re-purpose this track to fit MOULE WORLD lore, and before finishing this on June 18, 2024, I made an artwork showing MOULE WORLD character Count Chiroptera in his prized orange orchard, and allocated this track coincidentally named after an orange drink to it! It uses the same synth arp as Castle Chiroptera too where Count Chiroptera first debuted, which is called "Twenty Eights Layers" in the project file because Castle Chiroptera was originally called "Twenty Eights". -- This track's cover artwork was very fun to make too. I started by importing assets of Count Chiroptera from Here For It's artwork and Robin from Reality Collapse's artwork, to get Count Chiroptera's vampire clothes and the same standing posture Robin has, and began editing his face based off Count Chiroptera's emoji. Then I added shadows, then began making the orange trees, then the bits of Castle Chiroptera (recently pained orange), and finally putting it all together. It was originally going to be titled "Orange Orchard" but I thought "O-Range" sounded more fitting, being a range of oranges while also referencing the fruit. -- Fun fact: I made a design of scaffolding in my attempt to show Castle Chiroptera's castle under construction to be flipped upside down and was aiming for it to have an M.C. Escher-esque appearance to reference Count Chiroptera's current plan in MOULE WORLD lore, but I decided to leave the castle upright in this artwork as aesthetically it looks more pleasing. -- I hope you enjoy it! Gone Fishing
GONE FISHING - An easygoing, upbeat electronic track about a fishing trip where Mersey the Penguin teaches Robin the Fox and Robert the Rabbit how to fish! Now Robin can cook his own fish and chips – his favourite meal! -- πŸ”Š Stream this on other platforms like YouTube and Spotify: distrokid.com/hyperfollow/moule/gone-fishing πŸ‘• Gone Fishing Merch: www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/161898129 πŸŽ₯ Gone Fishing Cover Art Timelapse: youtube.com/embed/Stxk48krXCo -- This track was created on October 1, 2020 and "finished" on December 30, 2020, the last track to be finished in 2020. According to a note I wrote in the track's notes, it's "about being isolated in my head in an already isolated city made more so due to [COVID-19]" and was originally titled "Afloat". Other titles and themes I had in mind for this track included "Exotic", "Birds", "Black Swan" (before I released a track with that title), "Fragility", "Isolation", "Island Within an Island" (again before I released a track with that title), "Perth", "Edge of the World", "Australia", "Own World", "Escapism", and "Shallow But Deep". -- Originally, a similar-sounding track to this one called "Reflect" was going to be Gone Fishing, but it didn't sound complete enough and I didn't have enough energy to finish it, so I allocated the "Gone Fishing" concept to this track formerly called "Afloat". Fun fact: it's where I got the melody for my track Rottnest Island from by playing this track's melody backwards: https://mastodon.moule.world/@MOULE/112976988747861739 -- This track was originally double its length but had been shortened due to its repetition. It's another challenge to my inner perfectionist demanding "maximalist" music design with lots of track regions, automation, plug-ins etc. -- Recently, as MOULE WORLD characters developed, I wanted to have a track with a cover artwork showing the loving bond between Robin and Robert and also Mersey teaching them how to fish, so I took this track "Afloat" and renamed it to "Gone Fishing", repurposing it to be about a fun fishing adventure rather than isolation. I also wanted to have Mersey in a cover artwork since Mersey hasn't been in any since Waterslide was released in July 2022. -- This cover artwork was fairly easy to make, as I have some experience designing nature backgrounds like this and it was simple to re-use Robin (the fox)’s asset from Reality Collapse and make some tweaks so he’s sitting with a fishing rod, and also provides a good base for Robert (the rabbit) and Mersey (the penguin). I really enjoyed designing this as I felt its cover artwork is very wholesome! It was also me improving on reflecting objects in water, though I don’t think I improved on that aspect very much. Still, very enjoyable to make! -- There's nothing much else to say about this track other than it's a wholesome upbeat track, so enjoy! FOXR Sleep Mode
FOXR SLEEP MODE - The final track in my recently-released GLHF album, it is creepy electronic noise about the Bugs and other rogue AI malware creeping into FOXR virtual reality headsets while in sleep mode! -- πŸ”Š Stream this on other platforms like YouTube and Spotify: hyperfollow.com/moule/foxr-sleep-mode 🦊 Stream the GLHF album on other sites: hyperfollow.com/moule/glhf-2 πŸ‘• FOXR Sleep Mode Merch: www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/156078228 πŸŽ₯ FOXR Sleep Mode Cover Art Timelapse: yewtu.be/watch?v=aVFumUF_sjM -- FOXR Sleep Mode started on October 9, 2022 under the title "FOXR Delta Mode" – there were originally gonna be five tracks about FOXR "modes" named after brainwave states, shortened to just this for simplicity. It was made while messing around in GarageBand trying to make something creepy using only a single audio region, with lots of data like reverb, delay etc changing as the track plays on. Over the years I've gained a fondness for creepy-sounding tracks, or tracks that start off happy-sounding then become more creepier towards the end. -- FOXR Sleep Mode soundtracks the Bugs' continued influence across the MOULE WORLD, showing that while the GLHF foxes sleep, their FOXR headsets are downloading some incredibly creepy updates they're not aware of. It's been discovered by the Cyber Threat Resistance League (CTRL) that presence of Bugs and other rogue AIs happen deep at night, and could also be the reason why Super Sky automatically boots everyone off the platform when it's nighttime. CTRL will do more investigation about the bugs appearing in FOXR, as they have done with Robin's Visionaria AR glasses. -- As for the cover artwork, it was very easy to make since I had done most of the work when making FOXR's cover artwork, so I imported the designs from that into a new Assembly file and made it as minimal and creepy as possible, such as adding spiders symbolising the Bugs creeping into devices and uncanny lettering inspired by AI-generated images of words. I originally wanted a black and orange colour scheme, but ended up settling with a black and green one since it better symbolises cyberspace and also night vision, emphasising the night-theme of this track. -- Let me know what you think on the Fediverse at MASTODON.MOULE.WORLD/@MOULE (or copy and paste @[email protected] into your own instance's search bar), or visit MOULE.WORLD for all MOULE links!more
