Coldplay are a British alternative rock band formed in London in 1996. The band's singer/pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion, met at University College London and came together from 1996 to 1998. During these two years, the band changed names from Pectoralz to Starfish and, finally, to Coldplay. Creative director and former manager Phil Harvey is often referred to as the fifth member by the band.

“SUPERNOVA”, it’s wild cause this was one of the songs I felt like had so much potential we almost didn’t know what to do with it for a little HAHA…My team has had my back not only with things hands on with music, but in life as a whole which has allowed me to bring authentic energy and emotion while in the studio. This song is a reflection of my life as a young adult in early high school… The girls, that feeling you had when you showed up to the party you always wanted to be at, the laughter and uncertainty of the unknown but being okay with it all at the same time, that’s what “SUPERNOVA” is… only you can bring yourself to that place cause it’s your experience.
