There is more than one artist with the name Shiv. 1. New Haven, CT's Shiv was a punk trio influenced by the aggressive noise bands who called the Amphetamine Reptile label home. They put out their debut, Flayed & Ashamed, in 1996. 2. Shiv plays an interesting mix of modern d-beat/dark hardcore and some mostly 80's influenced metal (think Paradise Lost, Judas Priest etc.).
