Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, indie newcomer Hathery steps into the spotlight with her debut album, “This, Too, Is Now.” Known for a distinct voice that echoes diverse influences from Belinda Carlisle to Alison Krauss while being wholly original, Hathery brings an indie sensibility to a collection that defies genre and gracefully dances between electro-pop and indie-rock with ease. The album’s first single, “Mother of Monsters,” honors pioneering women Mary Wollstonecraft and her daughter Mary Shelley, setting the stage for a concept album exploring philosophy, reason, and growth through new perspectives. Across a variety of musical styles—woven together by introspective lyrics and driving melodies—Hathery invites listeners to connect, reflect, and discover new paradigms in each track. With a deeply personal approach and an honest, vulnerable tone, “This, Too, Is Now” isn’t just about making music—it’s about asking questions and finding meaning.more

Bit of an oldie, but I feel like it's maybe got a little staying power. Produced on an off-the-shelf Nintendo Game Boy using the Little Sound DJ tracker software. And an FYI for any physical-format music enthusiasts & collectors — the EP this track is from (titled Information Chase) has just been pressed to vinyl too, with a really cool die-cut sleeve.
