Bud Powell
Earl Rudolph "Bud" Powell (September 27, 1924 – July 31, 1966) was one of the most influential pianists in the history of jazz. Along with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie he was instrumental in the development of bebop, and his virtuosity as a pianist led many to call him "the Charlie Parker of the piano". Powell was perhaps the first pianist to vocalize on the piano, meaning that he transfered his vocalized improvisations directly through his hands to the instrument.

Nica's Dream
Descending introduction indicating a downward spiral, a metaphor for things will get far worst before they get better. The piano begins with a strong melody highlighting the key theme using single notes and accents to really bring attention to the happiness and anguish in the melody. The flute midi then takes over the main melody with embellishments, complimented by the trumpets limited role. This theme is repeated throughout the track and each instrument has a chance to improvise and highlight the melody in the solo, then we return to the main head and close out with an outro. more
