If Love Was Enough
The song is about a Christian man and a Muslim woman who genuinely love each other, but her family and the difference in faith make the relationship impossible. Her phone is taken, and her school, family, and future are put at risk. The man doesn’t blame her or ask her to abandon her faith or family. Instead, he steps back—even though it breaks his heart—because continuing could make her life harder. The central message is: sometimes two people can love each other deeply, yet love alone cannot overcome family pressure, fear, religion, and circumstances. His silence isn’t because he stopped loving her; it’s how he protects her. Lyrics down below: We never meant for this to happen We were only talking at first Then somewhere between all the late nights It became more than words You said my name at home And everything changed Suddenly there were questions And you were caught in the middle of them They took your phone Told you this had to stop Your school, your family, your future All of it came up at once And all I could think was How did we get here Just from falling for each other? I know what they mean to you I know what you could lose So I could never ask you To choose me over you If love was enough You'd still be here tonight You wouldn't have to hide me Or tell them that we're done If love was enough There'd be nothing left to choose You could keep the life you love And somehow still have us Different faith Different homes Different words when we pray I never wanted you to change I just wanted you to stay If love was enough You'd still be here If love was enough You'd still be here I never wanted you to change I just wanted you to stay They've never sat across from me They don't know what I would say That I'd never take your faith from you Or pull you from your family I know why your mother worries I know this isn't small to her You're her daughter You're her future Of course she's scared of what could happen But I wasn't trying to take you away I just wanted a place in your life Where saying my name Didn't make everything harder No sneaking around No deleting our words No looking over your shoulder Every time your phone lights up That isn't what I wanted for you And I know It isn't what you wanted either If love was enough You'd still be here tonight You wouldn't have to hide me Or tell them that we're done If love was enough There'd be nothing left to choose You could keep the life you love And somehow still have us Different faith Different homes Different words when we pray I never wanted you to change I just wanted you to stay Now I think before I call you I think about every word There are things I used to call you That I don't know if I should anymore Albi Habibti They still come into my head I just don't say them Maybe that's what loving you looks like now Knowing when to be quiet Even when I don't want to be And I don't blame you Even when I don't want to be And I don't blame you I really don't I know why you stepped back I know what it could cost you I just hate that we can love each other And somehow That still isn't enough If love was enough You'd still be here If love was enough I wouldn't lose you like this No goodbye No anger Nothing we did wrong Just two people Who weren't allowed To keep going Maybe one day they'll meet me And maybe none of this will matter then Maybe they'll see I'm not somebody trying to change you I'm just the man Who happened to fall in love with you And if that day never comes If your life takes you somewhere else I hope you know I didn't stop caring I just stopped making it harder If love was enough You'd still be here tonight Your mother wouldn't fear me You wouldn't have to hide If love was enough You wouldn't have to choose Between the people who raised you And somebody who loves you too Different faith Different homes Still the same tears when it ends Maybe heaven understands us Even if the world never did If love was enough You'd still be here You'd still be here I never wanted your whole world I only wanted A place in it So if I speak a little softer now Or stop saying the things I used to say It doesn't mean I forgot I'm just trying not to make your life harder To prove That I love youmore

- Mastered by mixea.com For those who find themselves returning to "Angels," the vibe shifts from the battlefield of legacy to a space of introspection, protection, and ethereal connection. This is for the listeners who find beauty in the quiet moments and strength in the unseen. Listening to "Angels" suggests you are someone who looks beneath the surface of everyday life. You likely resonate with music that feels like a sanctuary. You find solace in a place to decompress and reflect on the "guardians" in your own life; whether they are people, memories, or a higher sense of purpose. Atmospheric Depth: You enjoy layers of sound that feel expansive, airy, and slightly haunting. Radical Empathy: You are often the "anchor" for others, drawn to themes of comfort, healing, and watching over those you love. Vulnerability as Power: You don't shy away from the softer side of the human experience; you see it as a necessary part of the journey. "Sometimes the loudest support comes from the quietest presence." Whether you’re seeking a moment of peace in a chaotic world or looking for a track that mirrors your own inner calm, "Angels" is your reminder that you’re never truly walking the path alone.more
