Velvet and Shadows
Velvet and Shadows Written By Loyd Davis Jr Recording Artist Loyd Davis Jr. I wrote this song for My, wife Julia Davis, it was a Happy Valentine's February 14th. 1993. to her it took me from January to February to finish the song that had been rotten since the late 80s and getting it recorded that it was still a studio in LA and then get it all together and getting before I could have Valentine's Day off the night before the day after. So when I came in of the road and arrived at home, I found a note from her, taped to the mirror above the fireplace addressed to the kids. Telling Them what was going on with her and I, this was on February 13th 1993, So she never knew of it's existence and she still doesn't know to this day. I had the original cut along with a music deal that I never signed the contract with RCA Records, locked away where I have everything else to do with my music and books. On February 13th 1993 I didn't think she deserved to hear the song or know of its existence. So I did the same thing I normally have done over the years just take it on hold somewhere forget about it until I cross it again... She will probably hear it now, if she hadn't been cheating on me for our entire marriage She would have known about so many more songs I had written and recorded for her...more
