A Protest Song! Pure and simple. Music Is Politics by any other means. - In the best tradition of the Singer Songwriter, this is my personal take on the 2024 American Election. - I just recorded this performance of my simple guitar and vocals. I will release a polished, produced version of the song on Inauguration Day in January. - My daughter, who is my biggest supporter and critic of my work, suggested that I publish this as is. So here’s my performance of my acoustic guitar and my vocals with very little flourish. - Long Ago and Far Away - Long Ago and far away were our dreams  Times were hard but not as bad as they seemed  Equality was no longer Cause Célèbre’s Racism fought to fight another day  - We all knew that We might be left behind  We cast our votes and lost our hopes by design  Is Losing just another state of mind? A state of mind A state of mind - Cracker Jack  A little smack Hey! You all fall down  - Billy Clubs  You racist Thugs Hey! Get outta town  Get outta town Get outta town - Long ago and far away were our dreams  Our safer place was lost to the new regime Jesus saves at First National Bank and Trust Money wins for Greed Power and Lust - We all knew all knew that We might be left behind  We cast our votes and lost our hopes by design  Is Losing just another state of mind? A state of mind A state of mind… of mind - Cracker Jack  A little smack Hey! They all fall down  - Billy Clubs  You racist Thugs Hey! Get outta town  - Chaos Kings  By any means  Hey! You Better tow the line  - MAGA Memes And Dirty Schemes  You Brainwashed minds  You Brainwashed minds  You Brainwashed minds  You Brainwashed minds  You brainwashed minds… Brainwashed minds Brainwashed minds - © 2024 Scott A. I made this song for people who don't know who to be and don't know just how important being yourself is. I got a talk with my mom about it and as a result I made this song talking about my experience.more
