CHVEZ is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Carlos Chavez. Chavez was born and raised in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. After developing an undying passion for metal music in his sophomore year of high school, he soon began his own creative endeavor in 2017 when he co-founded cover band Contact with guitarist, Brandon Lee-Jones. After departing from the band in 2019 and moving to Nashville to pursue a degree in audio engineering from Belmont University, Chavez co-founded hard rock band Open Casket Wedding with Dylan Hawkins of Sacrificing Seasons. From 2020-2021, he also played bass for Nashville-based pop-punk band Sugar in the Gas Tank. After all this, he still had more ideas and music than he had outlets for. With that, Chavez’s solo project, CHVEZ, was officially established in 2021 with the release of “Guards Down,” a hard-hitting single featuring powerful guest vocals from AvA Anduze of Platinum Moon.
