OUT NOW!!!
"A Son’s Prayer” is Xilence’s reflection on growing up without his father, who passed away when he was only six years old. With so few memories left to hold onto, the grief comes less from remembering what was lost and more from imagining everything that could have been.
His father never got to watch him graduate, see him fall in love, witness the person he became, or stand beside him when he eventually gets married. Every milestone carries two feelings at once: pride for how far he’s come and an emptiness knowing the one person he wishes could witness it never will.
Rather than letting that absence erase his connection to his father, Xilence turns it into motivation. He carries his father’s name, chases his dreams, and moves through life believing that somewhere beyond what he can see, his father is still watching.
“A Son’s Prayer” is ultimately a letter to someone who left before Xilence had the chance to truly know him, a prayer that every accomplishment, every struggle, and every step forward somehow reaches the man he has spent his life trying to make proud.

[Intro]
“Dad… I wish you could’ve seen me…”
[Verse 1]
Six years old, last memory, barely a face
Grew up fast, built my life in an empty space
You never saw me graduate, cap thrown in the sky
Never held my hand when first love made me cry
Won’t be there when I say “I do,” stand at my side
Won’t witness the man I became, the tears I hide
I walk through milestones, alone in the frame
But I swear I feel you watchin’, whisperin’ my name
Every victory, every loss, every scar I bleed
I do it for you, dad, for the man you’d need
The void you left, heavy, cold in my chest
But I push forward, I grind, I’ll never rest
[Chorus]
Long Live You, you never got to see me
Grow, fall in love, fight to be free
You won’t see my wedding, my crown, my rise
But I feel you in the shadows, in the skies
Long Live You, the hole you left inside
I carry it with me, pain I can’t hide
Still, I do it all, because I know you see
I’m alive, I’m your son, and I’ll make you proud of me
[Verse 2]
I picture your face at every milestone I meet
Your absence is loud, your silence bittersweet
First kiss, first heartbreak, the nights I cried
The dreams I chased, the demons I defied
You built a ghost that haunts me with love and regret
I owe it all to you, Dad, I’ll never forget
Every stage, every crowd, every tear I shed
I feel your pride in every word I’ve said
Empty inside, but I fill it with fight
Your spirit guides me through darkness and night
I’ll succeed even if you never can see
Everything I am, I’m doing for thee
[Chorus]
Long Live You, you never got to see me
Grow, fall in love, fight to be free
You won’t see my wedding, my crown, my rise
But I feel you in the shadows, in the skies
Long Live You, the hole you left inside
I carry it with me, pain I can’t hide
Still, I do it all, because I know you see
I’m alive, I’m your son, and I’ll make you proud of me
[Bridge]
I miss you every day, Dad, the life you’ll never touch
But I live it like you’re watching, like your hand is clutch
Through every fall, every win, every vow I make
I carry your love, your lessons, the path you’d stake
[Outro]
“Long… Live … Dad… always…”more
