Eliza Nette initially started writing after a high school breakup, she stayed in her room for weeks writing scripts, raps, and poetry. She would go on to record her first track in college when she transferred to SoCal for school. Gaining more inspiration through the death of her father, pandemic, family drama, and the ebbs & flows of adulting Eliza Nette released her first three songs in 2021. Her style consists of thought-provoking lyrics, true-to-experience storytelling, and steady bars. Eliza Nette also has a songwriting background and experience with many genres of music. Originating from Stockton CA, Nette’s family kept her enriched in an array of soul music from the likes of Sam Cook, Aretha Franklin, and various gospel artists. Still, her Rap influences consist of artists like J. Cole, Tupac, and Lil Wayne. Growing up in a poor urban town she leaned on music and writing as a source of hope, today she leans on these same factors as a means of therapy.
