You Made Me Sing
This song is a Celebration of Love and Friendship! The Inspiration is in The Song! - You see just a year ago I was just getting started with writing songs again. I couldn’t sing. I was shy and embarrassed. But this guy named Ufuk encouraged me to put my self out there and go for it. And I did. - Exactly One year ago Ufuk Çelik from UFCEBABA asked me about some song I wrote about the Native Peoples of North America called Ghost Dance. He liked it. We began a collaboration that has resulted in countless songs. - So in tribute to my friend Ufuk Çelik I have written this song for him to say… well, hopefully the song says it all… - Written, Performed, Recorded, and Produced by Scott A. Gradert - Lyrics: - You Made Me Sing - You made me sing You made me cry Tears of joy You made me try - To be me again To be free Brother do you see You inspire me And You made me sing - My songs unsung Then there was you You found the magic Made them all brand new For me to love again - Will our children recall The reason the rhymes Cuz in the end My Friend All that’s left behind Are just the memories Of forgotten space and time - And You made me sing - You made me brave You made me strong When I was sad You wrote me a song - Will our children recall The reason the rhymes Cuz in the end My Friend All that’s left behind Are just memories Of forgotten space and time - I could never say What you mean to me Perhaps in this song Brother do you see - You set me free You made me a song Brother do you see You set me free - To write songs Again And Again and Again And that’s And that’s why I wrote this song for you - Last words should never be goodbye - © 2025 Scott A. The Wounds That Shape The Light
It an all too often the case that those who suffer most in war or areas of conflict are the children. This song is for them and the hope for peace. Little child, I can see within your eyes All the feelings that you can’t disguise You’ve seen things you shouldn’t see Things that maim and kill humanity This world is cruel, this world is blind Shown you the worst of humankind Made a hell for you on earth Ever since your birth Oh, little child, can you forgive A world that thought you shouldn’t live A world that made you cry Thought that you must die? But war couldn’t break you Death couldn’t take you You survived The wounds that shape the light In a war that’s not your fight Music Little child, if you grow I hope you’ll know A world of peace, and love Where bombs don’t rain down from above Cause, little child, I can see within your eyes All the pain that you can’t disguise The pain that’s in your eyes This song was a collaboration with my friend Makis Paradeisopoulos. Makis is on youtube and every day does these amazing guitar riffs with melodies that he creates and we wrote this song based on one of those amazing guitar riffs from which this title comes. more
