Inspired from the story of the man with leprosy (Matthew 8:1-14) and the story of the boy with an evil spirit (Mark 9:14-29). I often see myself as the both the man with leprosy, and also the father who brought his possessed son to Jesus. My life is so messy, often so many stains and mistakes and mess-ups, and the burden of them all is eating at my heart and my conscience daily -- just like the leper's disease. I also, very much am like the father whose son is demon-possessed. I bring my burdens and worries to Jesus but I sometimes doubt that He can actually do something about it. I doubt that Jesus is WILLING to heal me, and restore me, like the leper. Yet, Jesus says, "I am WILLING. I am ABLE. All things are possible for those who believe." May this song help us to trust that Jesus is who He says He is. Run to Him, in the midst of your brokenness, your unbelief, and your weariness. I can assure, He redeemed me, and made me clean. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ." This song was written out of a moment of realization that there is nothing else that this world can offer that could satisfy and full me the way Jesus does. May this become our generation's heart cry, that we would consider all other things worthless compared to the magnificence of Christ.
