Jay was born and raised in Alabama and grew up in a musical household/family with his mother, uncle and five aunts being in a gospel group together. Music has been an outlet for him for as long as he can remember and became a way to express his feelings and to connect with those with similar mindsets. While playing football at university, he began to write and develop his talent for music. His influences are ~ Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Outkast, Pastor Troy, Coheed and Cambria, and more ~ it’s easy to see that DolliLama's style can’t be put in a box.
