MARANG is a Greek Cypriot composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. His focus is on heavy, instrumental progressive music incorporating jazz and fusion influences, much like Plini, David Maxim Micic and Intervals. His debut EP, ‘Metamorphosis’, was written, composed, and produced in his bedroom during the pandemic. Despite lockdown challenges, MARANG turned his home into a creative sanctuary, pouring his heart and soul into every note, riff, melody and solo. The third track from the EP, ‘Fractured Steps’, features saxophonist John Waugh (The 1975) and drummer Chris Allison (Plini). Marang made the bold step of approaching them directly; both musicians didn’t falter in working with him, leading to an epic collaboration. The collaborations didn’t stop there – Marang also joined forces with acclaimed musicians Anup Sastry and Jack Gardiner (Stu Hamm). Additional credits go to Grammy-award-winning producer, Pete Smith and Acle Kahney (Tesseract).
