My name is Miranda Bolton. I am a songwriter, musician and vocal coach from Alabama. I started writing songs in 1984, when I was 9 years old. I write, compose and produce my own music.
My music journey started at a very young age. I received my first piano when I was 3 years old. I started taking piano lessons at the age of 5. Around 1983, I was restless. I wasn't just happy with piano lessons. I told my piano teacher, who was also a vocal coach, that I was bored. I told her that I wanted to write songs, poetry and sing. She didn't know that I could sing until I belched out Patsy Cline's "Walking After Midnight" for her. She was stunned. I had hundreds of ideas running through my head to compose songs. I wrote them down on paper, napkins, my hands, anything available at the time. In 1989, I wrote my first song called "Restless". I finished composing that song this year. Over the years, I've learned how to play several instruments. Piano, guitar, drums, trumpet and mandolin.
