Firebreak is about the people who decide, “It ends with me.” Whether it’s abuse, addiction, generational trauma, fear, or something with no name at all, it’s about refusing to let the damage travel any farther. The ones who take the heat so someone else gets a chance to grow up in a forest that never learns to burn. That’s a kind of strength we don’t talk about enough.more

My songwriting process usually starts with, “What if I’m overthinking this?” A few hours later I’ve somehow connected a rainy Tuesday, a bookstore, a crow, and an emotional crisis into a song.
