I have a unique and (I think) pretty cool story:
My musical journey began over 40 years ago as a guitarist/vocalist in various US rock and metal bands. Life interrupted, though, and I quit music in the late 80s to start a family and begin a 20+ year military career. When I left the Army in 2018, I picked up the guitar again as a hobby. Soon I was writing and recording original music influenced by both modern artists and bands from my youth. In my new home (Germany) I sought out like-minded musicians and co-founded the project “Dorian Gray”, which morphed into the hard rock band S’ain’t Sin.
And here’s the kicker that makes this story truly awesome: in early 2018, I was diagnosed with a huge brain tumor! The tumor was successfully removed, but the surgical trauma somehow “rewired” my brain so that I was able to pick up the guitar where I left off nearly four decades ago without missing a beat!
In short, I’m one lucky guy!
