The Velvet Ropes unveil their seventh original song, “Troublesome Fire,” that takes a page from the story of the East Troublesome Creek Fire that ravaged Grand Lake, Colorado, on October 21, 2020. The song tells the poignant tale of Lyle and Marilyn Hileman, an elderly couple who chose to stay in their beloved home of nearly 50 years to face the wildfire that would eventually consume 193,812 acres and destroy more than 350 homes. Armed only with their unwavering love and unshakable faith, Lyle and Marilyn provide a stark example of courage, devotion and conviction in the face of a terrible fate. Featuring guest harmonica player Bob Reed, “Troublesome Fire” blends raw emotion with a blues & roots rock sound. The track showcases Lance Woodson (guitar, bass), Cinco Barnes (lead vocals, guitar), Perin Moretti (keyboards), and Brent Taylor (drums) in a powerhouse performance that kicks in the door and demands your attention. more
