Born and raised in Greece, Aretha marked her first touch in the industry at just 16-years-old in 2014 when she became a runner up on “The Voice of Greece” and later on debuted her first Album “Distance” as “Arete Kosmidou” with Minos EMI, récord company. She developed her taste for music by studying the classical guitar and the piano from the age of 13 and listened to artists such as Madonna, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera and Pink to bands and groups like Radiohead, Gorillaz, TLC, Destiny’s child, Alice in Chains, The Cranberries and The Flaming Lips. She proceeded to do her Music studies in 2015 at the University of East London and has ever since resided in the UK. With the release of her first Single “Player 911” as “Aretha”, she is preparing the grounds for the release of her Debut Album and is expected to be dropping more music in 2022.
