Zazie Productions is an Asheville-based polymath, encompassing roles as a sound artist, multi-instrumentalist, graphic designer, and avant-garde music producer. They are the enigmatic force behind the subversive neurodivergent meme page, @WellMeaningNeurotypicals, and are recognized as a prolific playlist curator, featured in The Typescript magazine. Commissioned by Black Mountain College in 2021, they crafted an innovative work of sound art, drawing inspiration from the college's legacy and experimental ethos. Their work is a product of limitless influences—the ambient soundscapes of Brian Eno, the lachrymose strings of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, the eccentricity of Frank Zappa, the pitch bending of Iannis Xenakis, the unforgiving synth attack of Stereolab, the visceral emotional power of Joy Division, and the complex arpeggios of Philip Glass.
