Darius “Austyn Cage” Palmer found his gift for rapping at the age of 13. Although he thoroughly enjoyed music as a child, he never attempted trying it out himself until his teen years. Transitioning from middle school to high school, Cage was primarily known as a prominent basketball player. He began gaining exposure for his musical gift by performing at school talent shows. As time went on, Cage became more and more obsessed with music and decided to make a career out of it. At age 16, he purchased whatever studio equipment he could find at the time and eventually built a home studio inside of his bedroom. There he spent hours upon hours practicing, recording & learning everything he could. In Fall 2017, Cage attended Lamar State College Port Arthur to pursue Sound Engineering. Choosing this path was a hard decision for Cage due to his love for basketball. However, the decision would come to be life changing for Cage. In 2018, he joined “Red House 409”, an independent record labe
