I’ve always wanted to write a song about the profound impact that humans have made on the planet, and I thought the best avenue would be through heavy metal! The music for this song came together very quickly, and I really wanted to focus on putting together something structured, catchy, and memorable; this is very different from the more progressive way I typically like to write music.more

I wrote this song after my cat, Mama, died a few months ago. She was my best friend for almost half my life, and I miss her terribly. Sitting down with my guitar helps me grieve and get my feelings out the best way I know how, and this is the piece of music that came out as a result of that.
