Chumani Ngqumshe (born October 6, 1992) is a rapper, songwriter and graphic designer from Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. He became interested in music and writing rhymes after watching 8 Mile. ChewMoney gained recognition as a rapper following his move to Pretoria where he joined a creative collective called Aphex in 2015. In 2018, Chew made a move to Strand where he is part of a collective called N.M.E. (New Movement Entertainment). ChewMoney released his debut mixtape, Rest.Art - The Genesis, in 2015. His next mixtape, Nirvana (2016). In 2018, he released this third mixtape, Call It What You Want Coz It's Yours, where he moves to more conscious themes. His fourth mixtape, Rest.Art 2, was also released in 2018. Chew's fifth mixtape, Rebellion (2021), touches on social issues such as drug abuse, unemployment and gang violence in South Africa. His single, Money (2021), is a bilateral aspirational song produced by Aidan Dawg and Garth Jung. ChewMoney is currently working on more music
